Description

Small antique bureau with drop down lid revealing fitted interior with two small drawers. Three drawers below with brass drop handles and pull out supports for the lid, which is a writing surface. It's made of mahogany and mahogany veneered pine and has marquetry borders and a striking snail shell motif on the sloping lid. Shaped bracket feet below. Great for a little laptop workstation with plenty of storage too. There's a key and all the locks work (second drawer down lock a bit fiddly). Condition is pretty good structurally: it's solid and all the drawers work well. Cosmetically it's generally good with some slight blemishes: there's a strip of veneer missing back bottom right side (see pics); we've stained it down a bit; there's a small piece of veneer been glued back on between the drawers, slightly clumsily (not by us!) and some dinks here and there; very faint cup ring on the top. Dimensions: 61cm wide x 43cm x 95cm (writing height 72cm)
